Covid-19 Update

A week and a half can seem like a long time during a pandemic. It’s been ten days since we were last open to the public, and it feels like a lifetime ago.  We had hoped to remain open for takeaways last week, but lost more of our team to mandatory self-isolation.  And the stricter advice on staying at home given in the Prime Minister’s statement to the nation – our official ‘lockdown’ moment – made it seem inevitable that we would not be opening on a regular basis.

We had hoped to start some kind of Friday night takeaway/delivery service this week, but after a lot of thought, taking into account both the safety of our customers and team, and the restrictions surrounding the government’s Job Support Scheme, we have decided to remain CLOSED until further notice.

Do please keep an eye on our social media channels for further Café news, and hopefully some lockdown recipes!

Equally, we recommend visiting the CAST website, where artist Lucy Grant will very soon be posting some fun, low cost creative ideas for all the family to try out at home or in the garden. And the website as a whole is certainly worth a good browse…
