Free event, booking recommended

An American oil company sends a man to Scotland to buy up an entire village where they want to build a refinery. But things don’t go as expected…

We’re delighted to be showing Bill Forsyth’s classic 1983 comedy-cum-poem to Scotland, and to welcome Chris Hibbert, Manager of the Borlase Smart John Wells Trust, who will give an introduction to the film.  Chris lived for twenty years in the Orkney Islands, and the film has a good deal of personal resonance.

We will be showing the film in the Café space itself, cabaret-style, and therefore booking a place is highly recommended.

CAST Café Supper beforehand from 6pm: something hot and something sweet from £8.
